A native of Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Fullerton Beck attorney Alexandra (Alex) Sued will be one of this year’s honorees of the Brooklyn Dominican Parade to be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She also will be honored on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at a pre-parade dinner at Giando on the Water in Brooklyn, an iconic restaurant with breathtaking views of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Alex has been involved in the Dominican diaspora community since moving to the United States in 2012 – first in Florida and then in New York after relocating to the city in 2015. She was introduced to the Brooklyn Dominican Parade in 2015 while working in cultural events with the community and has since maintained a relationship with the organization.
In addition to her social connections with the Dominican community, Alex is involved politically, mobilizing the Dominican community in New York, and having worked on drafts of current bills that, if passed, will amend legislation in the Dominican Republic.
“This is a critical time for women and other marginalized groups in DR,” Alex explains. “I am committed to using my legal training to help the DR in whatever way possible and am honored that the Brooklyn Dominican Parade not only recognizes my efforts but supports them as well.”

The parade, which is celebrating its 21st anniversary, will start at the intersection of Graham and Metropolitan avenues in Williamsburg, with Alex making her way down the parade route to Broadway.
